Xbox 720, Wii 2 To Launch By 2010

Predictions are always fun, but they tend to garner a little more credence when they come from a respected source. Gamespot UK recently turned to Evan Wilson, an analyst at Pacific Crest Securities, for his feelings on the recent EA resurgence and for his outlook into the gaming future. There are four very notable things that mentions near the end of his interview.

1. Microsoft will launch its Xbox 360 successor some time in 2010, possibly ushering the way for an Xbox 720. Hopefully they'll be able to overcome the red ring of death this time around.

2. Nintendo will launch its Wii successor shortly before Microsoft, marking one of the first times in recent history that the big N will be the first to enter a new generation of gaming. The Wii brought motion controls to the mainstream. What will the Wii 2 bring?

3.... and 4. Both the PSP and DS are dead by 2010. This doesn't mean that portable gaming will go bye-bye, but it does point toward replacement gaming devices, just as the DS effectively bumped the Game Boy name off the map.

   Yeah, the iPod cant be considered a gaming platform. I don't know if any of you tried playing resident evil degeneration or 4 on that thing, but it is just bloody impossible. As goes for Need for Speed Undercover and many other "Ports".

The 3DS is blowing minds everywhere with full 3D effect without 3D glasses, this is gonna be even bigger than its predecessor (DS) - The most successful gaming console in history with over 128.89 million units sold world wide! - Microsoft or Sony will NEVER beat that.
