Wii Surpasses One Million Mark In Canada

If you were to take a guess, which console is the most popular for Canadians? If you answered the Wii, you'd be right. In fact, Nintendo's latest just passed the "one million units sold" mark. The Xbox 360 trails second while, not surprisingly, the PS3 lags third.

The Wii had sold just under 1,060,000 units in July according to recently released figures by the NPD Group, which tracks the industry. In comparison, the Xbox 360 sold just over 870,000 units in Canada through July while the PlayStation 3 was just over 520,000.

Nintendo continues its domination of the Canadian video game market even in software, with eight out of the top ten games were for its consoles. In this list, the Wii shares the limelight with the DS. Hit the source for the full figures, including other details.
