Top 5 PS3 (PlayStation) Kids Games for 2009 - Ratchet and Clank

2. Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - PS3

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction for the PS3 is an ongoing franchise for the PlayStation that had several iterations for the PS1/2 before coming out on the PS3. While Ratchet & Clank were popular prior to PS3, the latest offering clearly takes this franchise to a new level.

Somewhat similar to Little Big Planet is that Ratchet & Clank is considered a 'platform' game in that there is an entire world to explore. Kids that have been exposed to beautiful animation thanks to Disney's Pixar films, won't be disappointed with Ratchet & Clank's graphics which are absolutely stunning on the PS3. There are lots of quirky characters to meet and cool weapons to use on the two resident villains Percival Tachyon and Captain Slag.

Overall this is a great game that kids of all ages can enjoy. However, it is a tad more violent than your garden-variety children's game, so for kids under 6-8 it is a judgement call for parents.
