Street Fighter IV Ultra Moves Showcase

Fighting games have gone a long way since they started as one-on-one affairs. The introduction of super moves added a flashy and dramatic flair to them, which makes the deal sweeter since their primary purpose is to allow players to deal heavy damage with a single sequence of commands.

Street Fighter IV introduces ultra moves aside from super moves. They're similar to latter, except more powerful. Here's a video montage showcasing them.

You'll notice that some of them aren't new, with Ryu suffering the worst of it. Both his ultra and super moves are fireball-based and look pretty lame compared to the others. As the title character, you'd expect that he'd get a little more love from Capcom but that doesn't seem to be the case. Of course, one can argue that flashy doesn't suit Ryu's cool and calculating nature, so the simplicity fits. I'm all for simple, really, but does it have to look so old?
