StarCraft 2 To Appeal To Casual Players Too

ss16.jpg

StarCraft 2 is going to be mom-friendly. Hardcore players are probably going to be reeling away from that statement, but it's true.

Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, the game's producer made it clear that although Starcraft II was intended to please the hardcore audience that still flocks to the original game for its strategic depth, some effort was being made to open the game up to the more casual player.

Head to the source for the maternal quote. I know that some of you may be frowning because of the casual reference, but note that Blizzard pulled it off with World of Warcraft. One of the reasons why it's so successful is that it appeals to both casual and hardcore gaming audiences. The question here is if it can pull off the same trick twice. We'll just have to wait and see.
