Simpson Game: No More Grand Theft Scratchy

grandtheftscratchy.jpg

Rockstar Games really doesn't have a sense of humor. We thought that the gaming studio was hip and with it, pushing the envelope with titles like Grand Theft Auto and Table Tennis (maybe more of the former than the latter). They like to push, but they don't like to laugh at themselves. As such, Rockstar jumped all over EA for creating the Simpsons game, particularly the stage that was once titled Grand Theft Scratchy.

An obvious spoof of Grand Theft Auto, the stage within the new Simpsons game was shown as part of an official trailer. Rockstar took offence and demanded that EA remove any posters parodying their controversial franchise. But it wasn't just the posters that they were after. Now, EA has been forced to remove the name "Grand Theft Scratchy" from The Simpsons game altogether.

The stage is still intact, thankfully, but it's now called Mob Rules. Yeah, nowhere near as witty and amusing.
