Silent HIll Origins on the PSP

silenthillorigins.jpg

I remember going to my friend's house years ago to try out the original Silent Hill. It was moody, creepy, and all together a heck of a scary ol' time. And it was great, even if the Hollywood movie that was later released wasn't quite so great. As is par for the course with Sony, they're bringing the Silent HIll franchise to the PSP and based on the hands-on preview at PSP Fanboy, it's ramping up to be one exceptional game.

Silent Hill Origins is supernaturally beautiful. Simply analyze the picture above and note its fantastic lighting and shadows. Note the reflection in the mirror, and then be awed that this happening in real-time ... on the PSP. Silent Hill Origins is shaping up to be the best looking PSP title to date, with its great character designs, atmospheric special effects, and (as noted) the impeccable lighting.

Head on over to PSP Fanboy to get the full scoop on Silent Hill: Origins, a handheld game that is actually quite "horrifying." That's a good thing, in case you're keeping score.
