Seven Reasons for Nintendo's Fall from Grace

shiggyoops.jpg

I'm a self-proclaimed Nintendo fanboy. Usually, the only video game-related posts I do on my own blog are related to Nintendo and have absolutely nothing to do with the Xbox 360 or any offering from Sony. I've been loyal to Shigeru Miyamoto and the rest of the team at Ninty for years, despite their several shortfalls.

Yes, they dominated the video game scene for years, especially when it came to home consoles, but they have also had many mistakes along the way. These pushed Nintendo from first place to third place. Games Radar has a look at seven of Nintendo's biggest mistakes to date. Here's the Coles Notes version.

7) The Wii is a motion-sensing gimmick. What can the next generation bring?
6) Virtual Boy. Enough said.
5) Nintendo's anti-online gaming stance
4) Kiddy reputation (Blood-less Mortal Kombat on the SNES)
3) Pissing off third parties from the start
2) "Pretty much everything involving the Nintendo 64" (Uh, cartridge?)
1) Stabbing Sony in the back, paving the way for the PlayStation
