Review: Tomb Raider: Underworld

While I'm not a huge fan of the series, I've always kept a close eye on Tomb Raider. It's not just because Lara Croft is a pretty sight to look at, but I find the lore fascinating too. Indiana Jones is one of my favorite movie heroes, so I can't help but draw more than a few parallels to the spelunking Ms. Croft.

Tomb Raider: Legend turned me into an actual player of the series. It drew me in unlike previous titles in the series and I've had high expectations since then. TR: Anniversary wasn't so bad, so how's Tomb Raider: Underworld like? Here are excerpts from a review:

This is the best Tomb Raider game in ages, with a vividly realised world and some ingenious level design. It's just a shame there are so many technical niggles, otherwise it could've been an essential buy. And the combat. God. It almost feels like an afterthought, as if they clumsily jammed it into the game five minutes before deadline.

So there you have it. Hit the source for the full review. As long as you're not getting the game because of the combat, you'll be fine.
