Review: Resident Evil 4 On The Wii

screenshot_179887.jpg

CVG has a review on the Wii version of Resident Evil 4. Does it survive the horrors of translation? You can read the full review after the jump, but I have the really juicy part quoted below:

The pointer calibration here is so sharp you could cut yourself with it: even compared with Nintendo's own gunwork in the Duck Hunt-styled passage of Wii Play, it feels like there's greater precision in Capcom's handiwork. The crosshair visible on-screen doesn't shake (unless you're really scared and can't control your hands, of course) and there's no need to move your whole arm (unless you want to copy the hired stooges on Wii TV ads) - the result is an effortless and flawless targeting system that does exactly what you demand of it.

It's a shooter that actually uses a shooting mechanic when you play it. It sounds absolutely wonderful. It's also kind of a homecoming for RE4. It was initially released for the Gamecube and then found its way to the PS2, along with a few extras. Now, the game has gone full circle and went back to Nintendo's arms via the Wii. This time, you can actually go for the arms, the legs or the head.
