PaRappa the Rapper Heading to the Wii?

parappa.jpg

Well, not exactly, but close enough. Masaya Matsuura, the creator of the now legendary PaRappa the Rapper series, is quoted as saying that NanaOn-Sha "is in the planning stages for a new game on the Wii." This may or may not be a spiritual successor the highly popular game that has, up until now, been found only on Sony consoles and portables.

Rhythm games are really hot, with the continuing success of titles like Dance Dance Revolution, Elite Beat Agents, and Guitar Hero, so why not continue on that trend with another PaRappa iteration? Interestingly, the reason that Masaya gave for not bringing the next game to the PS3 was that "It's too big for the Japanese", whereas the Wii is apparently just right.
