New World Of Warcraft Patch Makes Leveling Easier

Blizzard released patch 2.2.3 yesterday for World of Warcraft and one of the major changes that it does to the game is that it makes leveling faster. It does this by reducing the amount of experience needed to attain a level.

The first notable change was to simply reduce the amount of experience needed each level by approximately 15% between levels 20 and 60. Please note that when the patch is released, characters affected by this change will remain at their current level percentage. For example, if a character had exactly 50% of the current level's total experience before this change went into effect, the character would still have exactly 50% of the current level's total experience; only now fewer points would be needed to level.

Experience gained by completing quests has also been increased. This is very good news for everyone below level 60 (or 70, if the expansion is installed). I was already feeling pain of the grind the other day when I spent almost three hours questing and noticed that my experience bar wasn't even at the halfway mark. After the patch was installed, I gained a level and was past the next half when I logged off. In short, it's a sweet and meaningful increase, a move that this WoW player certainly appreciates.
