Mila Kunis Joins Max Payne Cast

kunis_mila.jpg

The latest game that will be turned into a movie is Max Payne. Mark Wahlberg stars as the hard-boiled, monologue-loving Payne and That 70s Show star and voice actor Mila Kunis will be joining him as an assassin set out to avenge her sister's death. It sounds very Mona Sax-esque, but that's only me. Will she be the femme fatale that Max falls in love with?

Max Payne was a third-person shooter that became known for its use of bullet time, a gameplay mechanic that slowed time down similar to The Matrix. With this ability, Max was able to aim in real-time amidst the slow motion chaos, giving him an edge against multiple foes.

The other distinguishing characteristic was the noir, comic book-style narration that the game took. The story is told from Max's point of view, and the artwork and dialogue gave the game an atmosphere of campy seriousness. It had the right amount of dry, often grisly humor that prevented it from becoming completely overkill, making it a well-loved game that a popular subject of comedic parody instead of being loathed as taking itself too seriously.

I took the time to detail the highlights of the game because I wanted to convey how good it was. I am honestly dreading how the film is going to turn out. Will it deliver justice Max Payne-style or will it be like watching a movie entirely in bullet time?
