Mega Man 9: Meet Plug Man

plugman.jpg

As freakishly frustrating as the original Mega Man games on the NES may have been, they were also a lot of fun, largely because of the interesting boss characters that you would encounter. Sure, Capcom wasn't too creative when it came to their names, but their abilities (and your ability to take them) made the game totally worthwhile.

Mega Man 9 is going to be available as a downloadable game soon, so what kind of bosses should we expect? We've seen some black and white concept images, but here is one of the first official pictures of Plug Man. As you can see, his power is based in electricity, looking like... well... a plug. His story is that he used to supervise a television factory, but now he's evil and shoots you.

The power that Mega Man gains upon defeating Plug Man is the Plug Ball, an electrical projectile that follows the contours of the terrain, running up walls and across ceilings. My question, though, is what's up with the pink?
