Home Version of Street Fighter IV Gets Exclusive Characters

sf4-logo.jpg

We already know that Street Fighter IV is going to have some new characters for us in addition to the original set we enjoyed back in Street Fighter II. We've already been introduced to the likes of Crimson Viper and El Blaze. That much is obvious. As it turns out, though, the home console version of Street Fighter IV will have even more new characters. The version heading to the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC will be more than just a port.

Details are pretty slim at this point, as is the case with most things related to Street Fighter IV, but the game's producer -- Yoshinori Ono -- says that the home version will feature new characters, some of which are exclusive to the home version and will not be available in arcades. Ono promises that they'll be "watching the overall balance" when implementing these new faces, whoever they may be.

In related news, we also learn that Street Fighter IV Home Edition will come with online play as well, so you'll be able to get your rear end handed to you by a 10-year-old from Japan. It's just as good as playing in Akihabara with his prepubescent skills!
