Guitar Hero: World Tour Welcomes Jimi Hendrix

hendrix.jpg

Rock Band 2 may boast one of the largest track lists ever found in a rhythm game of its kind, but the guys at Activision have a rather important Trump car up their sleeves as well. The official track list for Guitar Hero: World Tour has not yet been announced, but we know of at least one artist that will be making a rather epic appearance.

It has now been officially announced that Guitar Hero: World Tour will feature the likes of Jimi Hendrix. This is the first time that the legendary rocker will make an appearance in a video game in a posthumous fashion. Not only will a couple of Hendrix hits be arriving on the track list, but Jimi himself will be available as a playable character, much like Tom Morello and Slash in Guitar Hero III.

The two songs from Jimi Hendrix that will be featured in GH:WT are Purple Haze (Live) and The Wind Cries Mary. The former was recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena. More Hendrix tracks will be available as DLC as well.
