Guitar Hero III Shortage For the Holidays

guitarhero-short.jpg

Unless you already have your hands on a copy of Guitar Hero III, you're probably going to have a hard time buying a new wireless guitar and rhythm game in time for the Christmas holidays. Activision is saying that Guitar Hero III could be in "short supply" for the holidays and based on my own personal experience, I'm inclined to agree.

I went to a variety of retailers over the weekend to see if they had Guitar Hero III for either the Wii or the PS3 available. I went to two Future Shop locations, one Best Buy location, one Toys R Us, one Superstore, and one EB Games and they all told me the same thing. Guitar Hero III is incredibly popular and is sold out. When I asked when the next shipment would come, the general consensus was "end of November." Crap.

If you've been hoping to jam out with Guitar Hero III, I suggest you head out to your favorite retailer and plunk down some kind of deposit. Otherwise, you won't be riffing with the best of them until next year.

The PS3 and Wii versions seem to be in good supply wherever I go. I live in San Diego, and the biggest prob here is getting the xbox 360 version. It it nowhere. Best buy, Circuit city, Gamestop, EB games, all had nothing. They had plenty for the other platforms, but the 360 version was sold out accross the board. I had to get the game seperate, and am still looking in futility for a used 360 guitar.
