Get Ready for Peggle on Nintendo DS

peggledsforsure.jpg

I can't be the only one who thinks this recent trend of transporting casual PC games over to other platforms is a little quirky. These casual games, like Diner Dash, can be developed very quickly, flipping out into the online gaming market for about twenty bucks a pop. Even if the game has been out for a long time, like Bejeweled, people still seem to be interested in getting a mobile variant, whether it be on a cell phone or something like the DS.

Such is the case today with the announcement of Peggle DS by the crew at PopCap. The DS version of Peggle is pretty much like the online version that you'll find at any number of casual gaming sites, except it will be on everyone's favorite touchscreen gaming machine. Instead of being bound to your laptop, you can play Peggle everywhere on your DS Lite. Hurray?

I don't know about you, but I don't think Peggle DS is worth $30 of my hard-earned money. That's the price of a "real" DS game. You know, like the upcoming Grand Theft Auto.
