Gauntlet DS: One Year of Delays

gauntletds.jpg

Growing up, one of my favorite multiplayer games was Gauntlet. It's just so much fun getting together with a couple of friends and hacking our way through hordes of enemies. The Nintendo DS is the perfect home for a lot of this retro-sourced goodness, so we all got pretty excited when Gauntlet DS was announced last year.

That was back in April of 2008. At that time, Backbone Entertainment told us that the game would be ready for public consumption in just two short months, putting the initial release window in the June 2008 range. That month came and went with Backbone pushing the date to October 2008. And then that came and went. It was then pushed to February 2009.

So, we're finally going to get Gauntlet DS next month, right? Nope. Too bad, so sad. It turns out that the title has once again been hit with an inexplicable delay, backing the release date to some time this April. At this rate, we're better off waiting for Gauntlet DSi...
