Dawn of War 2 System Requirements Released

dow2.jpg

Relic has released the system requirements for the upcoming RTS game Dawn of War 2. Check it out:

Minimum Requirements –

* Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista SP1
* P4 3.2 GHz (single core) or any Dual Core processor
* 1 GB RAM (XP), 1.5 GB RAM (Vista)
* A 128MB Video Card (Shader Model 3) - Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT / ATI X1600, or equivalent
* 5.5 GB of Hard Drive space

Recommended –

* Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista SP1
* AMD Athlon 64×2 4400+ or any Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2 GB RAM (XP and Vista)
* A 256MB Video Card (Shader Model 3) - Nvidia GeForce 7800 GT / ATI X1900, or equivalent
* 5.5 GB of Hard Drive space

Skip the minimum and get the recommended if you can. The original Dawn of War was a series of real-time strategy games set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It focused on squad-based tactics combined with vehicles to create gameplay elements that made it different from the rest of the pack. Instead of making things a race to get the latest vehicles and then forgetting about infantry, Dawn of War used both, with some factions even relying more on the latter than the former.

The first Dawn of War also featured some of the best graphics available during its time, so it's no surprise that the sequel is going to be demanding as well. Aside from the background visuals, expect plenty of units moving across the battlefield, large amounts of blood and gore and detailed vehicles. Unless you're running a very high-end machine, Dawn of War 2 might give your current rig a run for its money.
