Confirmed: Rock Band Wii on June 22

rockbandlogo.jpg

You know, Wii owners have pretty much been screwed with this latest smattering of rhythm games. The Wii version of Guitar Hero III lacked stereo sound and then they got left in the cold with Rock Band altogether. Activision is working on correcting the former and now it has been confirmed that Harmonix is correcting the latter too.

It has been confirmed that Rock Band Wii "Special Edition" will be launching on June 22nd with a sticker price of $169.99. Included in the bundle, much like the other versions that have been available for a few months now, are the game itself, drum set, microphone, and a wireless guitar. Although I hope that the drums and mic are wireless, I have a feeling that they're wired. Shucks. There will be 63 songs, including five "bonus" songs.

The Wii version of Rock Band is said to be much closer to the PS2 version developed by Pi Studios. This means that Wii owners will be treated to the same or similarly scaled-down version of World Tour and character creation modes. And no, the peripherals don't use the Wii Remote.
