Blizzard Announces Diablo 3

Last weekend we saw the announcement of Diablo 3. After displaying a splash page all week long, Blizzard finally revealed that the pair of eyes belonged to its popular action RPG series. It also released three trailers featuring cinematics, gameplay and artwork. While the first one is impressive, we'll highlight the second video.

As you can see, the Barbarian class was retained, and the gameplay looks top notch. I like how the screen shakes when you deliver a massive blow to your foes. The jumping looks better now, compared to how awkward it looked like in Diablo 2. Fans will appreciate the return of series lore master Deckard Cain. If you take a close look at the cinematic trailer, you can catch a glimpse of Tyrael, or at least his lookalike.

A new class is also introduced: the Witch Doctor. Also, it looks like we'll be getting male and female versions of each class, as opposed to the pre-assigned sexes in Diablo 2. Although it lasts 20 minutes, the gameplay trailer still feels painfully brief, which hints at how much I'm anticipating this title.
