Ever wonder why The Dark Knight had no accompanying video game? It was because of this game. Check out the trailer for Batman: Arkham Asylum.

If you ask me, Star Wars and Batman used to have something in common: bad games. Before Knights of the Old Republic and the Jedi Knight series, titles based on the world of the Force felt, well, distinctly abandoned of it. That changed with KOTOR and its awesome depiction of an RPG set in the Star Wars universe.

On the other hand, the door is still open to the game that will usher players in to Batman's world. The last game, the one based on Batman Begins, was okay. It wasn't a bad title, but it didn't succeed in making you feel like you were Batman. Combat was repetitive, its attempt to create gameplay based on a fear mechanic was lackluster and the Batmobile sequences felt forced. This new title looks promising. Let's hope the real thing is as good as advertised.
